Who pays for what
The machine, the removal, and the record
This package does not replace the rental: it adds to it. You keep everything the composter on its own includes, and the compost is no longer your concern. That package is the French one: elsewhere, the removal of the mature compost is arranged with a local operator of your choice, and we help you scope the brief.
Taking away what is left
In most cases nothing leaves at all: the compost goes onto your own beds and green spaces. If you have no use for it, a local contractor comes and takes it away, and you sign that contract directly with them.

What the rules ask of you, market by market
The United Kingdom sits outside the EU waste framework and runs four regimes: Simpler Recycling in England, the Waste (Scotland) Regulations 2012, Workplace Recycling in Wales and Northern Ireland’s own rules. Ireland is in the EU and applies Article 22 of the Waste Framework Directive, which since 31 December 2023 has required food waste to be either collected separately or recycled at source. The composter recycles at source: the food waste is treated on the site that produces it and 65% of the mass leaves the stream. Which route your own site takes, and on what terms, is set by the law of your country.
- Nothing to contract, in most cases. The compost stays on your own grounds instead of going into a lorry.
- Little left to move. The material loses around 65% of its mass while it composts, so what does leave is a fraction of what came in.
- A contractor of your own choosing, if you need one. You negotiate the price and the frequency directly, with no one in between.
- A receipt for every removal. Dated, weighed, naming where it went. Ask your contractor for it and keep it on file.

This is what sets it apart from an ordinary food waste collection: the material has already composted on site, it has lost volume and it no longer rots. Collections can be spaced far apart with no nuisance at all.

The composter runs all year without you. If anything does have to leave, it takes a little preparing: a time slot, a way in, and a receipt to ask for.

The contract is yours, and so is the choice of contractor; we help you scope the brief. The 120 L wheelie bin goes under the low hatch, you turn the composter with the crank, and the compost drops in.

The receipt, your own figures, and a composter you top up yourself
The bulking material is topped back up, the mechanism gets its quick check, and you write down what left. That is the file an inspector asks to see, whichever country you are in.

Better said now than later: the removal of the mature compost is contracted by you, directly with the operator you choose, and we help you scope the brief. Sorting stays with your teams either way, and the terms of sale are on the quote, not here.
